Introverted Author Takes Over Facebook, Sort Of

K.L. Kranes is a published author of The Travelers. She, along with her publisher’s other authors, will be featured on Facebook live Saturday participating in an author takeover. Please check her out on Saturday and send a like, a comment, or question if you have a moment. Wishing her luck at this event, about which she is a little nervous! Please enjoy her blog below for more details. Hope to see you among the “likes” popping up on the FB live event Saturday!

K.L. Kranes, Author

I’m an introvert or an ambivert (a person whose personality has a balance of extrovert and introvert features) or I’m an introvert who learned to manage in an extroverted world. It all depends on the definition. Regardless of how it’s categorized, I have introvert features that make marketing a book very difficult. And, yet, I have to do it. This weekend, in fact, I’ll be inflicting my introvert awkwardness on a Facebook Takeover Event hosted by Saguaro Books, the publisher of my book, The Travelers. (If that’s not a fantastic pitch to get you to come to the event, I don’t know what is!)

What’s a Facebook Author Takeover Event?

Good question. I’m glad you asked. Because I had no idea either. (On top of being an introvert, I’m very new to social media.) Thus making the concept even more terrifying. Although once I found out what it was…

Deciding to Go: A HippoCamp 2017 Pre-cap By Elizabeth Mackenzie Biedell

And I’m glad she did. “So I’m not even sure...there’s this thing...I want to go, it’s called Hippo Camp...I don’t know, Ken really wants to go to this other thing…” I wasn’t sure what my friend Lisa was talking about. It didn’t matter.... Continue Reading →

Profanity with Hufflepuffs and Middle Schoolers

The night before we were scheduled to see Hamilton on our NYC trip, we were in New York City--in Times Square, to be exact, with animated glowing lights and signs screaming the names of well-known and unheard-of Broadway musicals all around us--and wanted to see another show. As I had mentioned in a previous blog,... Continue Reading →

Let’s Play “Get to Know You”

Greetings friends! I have never really done a "Who am I?" blog. If you already read and follow my blog, thank you; you are awesome! And if you have read things I have written, then you might already have a sense of what is important to me. I live in the Washington DC area, with... Continue Reading →

Book Signings, Book Stores, Books

Yesterday I went to a book signing at a fabulous beach town bookstore. They always have great book signings, and this week was no exception. (I'm always taking notes because I worked with my friend and author K.L. Kranes to organize a book signing this past spring and I like to observe other similar events.) Elin Hilderbrand, an...
