What is up, people? Welcome. Thanks for checking out my About Lisa page.
I am in the (lengthy) process of writing a book. In the meantime, the pandemic happened and now I sew masks. I have sewn hundreds of masks to donate to healthcare and veteran facilities. As a side hustle, I also sell them. Sewing masks has been my sanity during the pandemic!
Between high school and college in the early 90’s I spent a year as an exchange student in Spain through Youth For Understanding. My book is about my adventures that year. I hope you will find the stories as funny and occasionally outrageous as I did.
A few years later, I spent my junior year of college in France. Originally, my plan was to return to Spain for my junior year (I was a Spanish major, after all), but I started studying French and my French professor suggested I go to Paris instead. I figured, pour quoi pas? (This means why not?) So Paris, it’s environs, and my adventures there will be a follow up book’s subject matter.
Currently I live in the Washington DC area with my husband, two kids, and our dog. I love writing with fountain pens, reading paper books by turning actual pages, taking “jumping” photos, scrapbooking, sewing, baking (but mostly eating) cakes, talking about Harry Potter, traveling, trying to help my kids with their high school homework, libraries (school and public), family, cursing like a sailor when my kids are out of earshot, sitting on my screened-in porch, and backyard bird-watching.
Thanks for reading about me. Stay tuned for updates.
